Last night at noon sharp it appeared on Spotify, Beyoncé’s long-awaited country album Cowboy Carter. We already got a taste with the songs Texas Hold ‘M and 16 Carriages. Now Queen B drops the entire masterpiece, which has a whopping 27 songs, and these are the first reactions.
Over the past few months, Beyoncé already managed to tease us quite a bit. Not only with the two previously released songs, but also with her looks. Queen B brought the western look back into fashion, so get ready for a summer full of cowboy boots.

With Renaissance, Beyoncé paid tribute to the ballroom community. This time, it’s country music she delved into, a totally different angle. As the first black woman, she managed to reach number one on the country charts, which had previously been dominated by white men. Now that she has released 27 songs, we are incredibly curious to see what kind of flight Beyoncé takes with this album.
Beyoncé woke up with big artists. For example, Miley Cyrus and Post Malone are also featured on the album. Miley (who is also known for her country sound) lends his voice to the song “II MOST WANTED,” while Post Malone joins in on “LEVII’S JEANS.” Beyoncé joined forces with Shaboozey for the song “SPAGHETTII.”
Initial reactions
The album has been online for over nine hours. That means that loyal fans and music critics have long since listened to all 27 tracks – and have already made their judgments. In general, reactions are very positive. Listeners even think Beyoncé is reviving the country genre with this album.
Dolly Parton is also enthusiastic. Especially about the Jolene cover, which Beyoncé recorded for the album. “I love her! She’s a beautiful girl and a great singer,” she told KNOX News earlier this month. But it’s also erupting on X (formerly Twitter).
